Guardian Home Information

We believe every dog deserves a loving forever family that they can call their own.  We are not a kennel breeder as dogs raised in kennels do not get the socialization and stimulation that is needed to be a well-balanced happy dog.  Because we believe that a family life is of utmost importance, our Guardian Homes have become an important part of our program and it benefits everyone involved, the dog, the breeder, and the forever family.

Our Guardian Home Program allows for local families to have a breeder’s “Pick of the Litter” puppy.  The pup will live with you as your family dog while Sierra Springs retains the breeding rights of the dog and pays for all breeding expenses. The Guardian Family will care for the puppy as a permanent member of the family and we will only need access to the dog a few times a year for testing and breeding purposes.  The female breeder will stay with their Guardian family during pregnancy and come to us 5 days before her due date to deliver her puppies in our home and stay until the puppies are weaned around 4-5 weeks old.  Our female breeders will never have more than 4 litters and are spayed at our cost once they are retired.

Males will only come to us for short periods of time to honeymoon with our females.

Your pick of the litter Doodle is your family pet, your forever companion. Once the breeder is retired, Sierra Springs Australian Doodles will spay or neuter the breeder at our cost and sign the ownership papers over to the Guardian family home.

How to qualify as a Guardian Home

You must:

Have a fully fenced yard

Keep on a Leash when outside of fenced yard

Ensure that your puppy is well socialized

Provide veterinary care when needed

Feed a premium quality breeder approved dog food

Maintain Pet Health Insurance

Ensure that your dog will not be left for long periods of time each day

Live within 1 hour from Folsom, CA  for Females & within 30 minutes for Males.
